This cute crochet Rainbow Snake was supposed to be not a snake at all. It was supposed to be something else.
But after I made this snake, my son fell in love with this toy and asked me if he can keep it. Of course, I let him keep this fun rainbow Snake.

So, this rainbow crochet snake now belongs to my son and lives in his room together with his crochet Garfield and many other stuffed animals.
Occasionally, this crochet snake goes to explore our backyard. It loves to hang on my Ladybug tree!
Later on, I crocheted another snake for my son and made that into what was the original purpose of this project. Can you guess what that was? You can find out about this project in one of my next posts!

Notes
- Ch 1 in the beginning of every round DOESN’T count as a Stitch.
- Join every round in top of first SC.
- How to change color: make last SC in the round, draw new color through first St of the round and through the loop on the hook.
- First, I changed color after round 8, then I was changing color every 10 rounds. You can change colors in your own way, or, you can make your Snake just in one color.
- Don’t forget to stuff the Snake as you go!
- I’ve made my Snake very long, you can make your Snake as long or short as you wish.

Great idea! Love this snake! Will save this pattern for later! Thank you so much!
how do you keep the stuffing from poking through?
I personally crochet more on the tight side. If you crochet too loosely, you need to use a smaller size hook.
I’m thinking a multicolored self striping yarn would really work great with this project!
