Italian Christmas Cake Pandoro Di Verona
This is a traditional Italian Christmas Cake which is not only tasty but also is a very beautiful! Another advantage – this is no-bake cake. I decided to make this cake for Christmas as my husband’s grandfather was Italian. And I wanted to bring some Italian tradition to our Christmas celebration.

The recipe was adapted from Vinsenzosplate website. The website also has a video for this cake.  I’ve made half of the recommended custard as looking at the recipe it seemed like a lot. After I’ve made it, I found that it is enough custard to spread it between layers. But if you want to have a piece of cake with extra custard on your plate, you need to make the recommended amount of custard. Also I decreased amount of sugar by ¼. It still was tasty!

The main ingredient of this cake is Pandoro – a star-shaped cake made by Bauli which I’ve purchased on Amazon. This cake reminds me of traditional Ukrainian Easter bread. So next time I will try to make this cake from scratch using Ukrainian Easter bread recipe.
