The recipe for this Italian Christmas Cake was adapted from Vinsenzosplate website. The website also has a video for this cake. I’ve made half of the recommended custard as looking at the recipe it seemed like a lot. After I’ve made it, I found that it is enough custard to spread it between layers. But if you want to have a piece of cake with extra custard on your plate, you need to make the recommended amount of custard. Also, I decreased the amount of sugar by ¼.

This cake reminds me of the traditional Ukrainian Easter bread. So next time I will try to make this cake from scratch using the Easter bread recipe.
