This crochet sun keychain is an easy project that consists of only two rounds and can be finished in 15 minutes. This keychain will make a quick handmade gift, can also serve as a party favor, or as a decorative accessory for your bag. It’s a great way to use up scrap yarn and add a touch of handmade charm to your everyday items.

I made my sun keychain in three different ways: first, I made a sun applique and left it as is; second, I added a sun charm; and third, I attached googly eyes and embroidered a smile.

Start with a magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 1, 8 HDC in magic ring, Sl St to first HDC to join. Total – 8 HDC.
Round 2. [Ch 3, Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in next, Sl St in next St of the round 1] 8 times, finish last repeat with Sl St into the same St where you started the first point. Total – 8 points. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.

2. Slide the jump ring under the two strands at the top of the sun points.
3. Optional – add charm.
3. Add keyring with chain.
4. Close the jump ring with the pliers.
