I had some key charms left from my previous project, so I decided to add them to my heart keychains.
There is a wide selection of cute charms available at craft stores and online. By adding these charms to your keychain, you can create unique, themed designs.

Heart Keychain Crochet Pattern, Video Tutorial

- Medium weight #4 cotton yarn. For my samples, I used Knit Picks Dishie medium weight #4 cotton yarn and Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn.

I recommend crocheting tightly; you want your heart to be firm and not floppy.

Heart
Ch 4;
Round 1: Make all of the next stitches into the fourth Ch from hook (the first Ch made) working under two loops – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Round 2: Ch 3, SC in first St, 2 SC in each of next 2 Sts, SC in each of next 3 Sts, SC in Ch-1 sp, Ch 1, DC in next St (Heart point), Ch 1, SC in Ch-1 sp, SC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 SC in each of next 2 Sts, SC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Fasten off and weave in the ends. Shape and block your heart as necessary.
Assembling

1. My keychain ring set came with an open jump ring. If your jump ring is closed, you will first need to open it with pliers.
2. Slide the jump ring under the two top strands of the second St of Round 2.
3. Add charm,
4. Add keyring with chain.
5. Close the jump ring with the pliers.
