My son is a very big fan of Garfield the cat. Garfield is one of his favorite cartoon characters. My son read all available books and watched every movie about this lazy, but clever cat. And, of course, he wanted me to crochet for him a Garfield toy.
Besides designing patterns, sometimes I also love to make beautiful items created by other wonderful designers. Here are some of my projects made by using somebody else’s patterns: Crafter Granny by ZhayaDesign and Lost in Time Shawl by Mijocrochet.
So, after searching on the Internet for Garfield, on an Etsy website I found a beautiful pattern for crochet Garfield. The pattern is designed by Erin Scull from Erin’s Toy Store and it makes a beautiful Garfield doll!
Even our Golden Retriever Lucy likes my crochet Garfield!
This Garfield pattern is available in Erin’s Toy Store HERE.
The pattern is very well written, is easy to follow and has a lot of photos. I really enjoyed making this crochet Garfield!
Here are the views from the side and from the back.
The finished size: my Garfield is about 16” tall, it is not a small doll.
Materials I used for my Garfield:
- Red Heart Super Saver, worsted weight #4 (100% acrylic; 364 yds/333 m per 7 oz/198 g skein) – 2 skeins Pumpkin
- Worsted weight #4 small amount – pink, white, black, yellow
- For the lines on the back, I used Patons Grace, sport weight #2 yarn, black
