To make this ladybug applique, you will need to make a large heart for the body and a small heart for the head. You can make the head with or without antennae.
For the ladybug’s spots, you can use beads, buttons, small crocheted circles, or hearts.
Using different yarn weights and crochet hooks, I made my ladybug appliques in two sizes – large and small.

Fasten off and weave in one end. Leave the second end to be long enough to sew the circle on the Ladybug. Make as many circles as you would like. Sew them on the Ladybug.

ALL YOUR HEARTS END WITH:
“Ch 3, Sl St in center.”
I’M REALLY NEW TO CROCHET. I UNDERSTAND THE CHAIN 3… BUT NOT THE SL ST IN CENTER… SLIP STITCH IN THE CENTER. CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS TO A BEGINNER? Thank you very much. I just love your patterns
