Sometimes, a crochet pattern will instruct you to “join with a standing SC (HDC, DC), or just “join with SC (HDC, DC). So, what are these standing stitches and how do you crochet them?
Crochet standing SC, HDC, or DC are used at the beginning of a new round or row instead of Ch 1, Ch 2, or Ch 3. Often the standing stitches are used to join in a new color when working in the round. These techniques will create a seamless and invisible join.
