As I live in an area where it rains a lot, I couldn’t miss creating a pattern for crochet Clouds and Raindrops applique. The rainy season here starts around October and lasts until June. When I was making these clouds and raindrops, it was raining outside my window. Doesn’t it sound funny – making more clouds and raindrops during the rain?

These crochet clouds and raindrops will look great on pillows and blankets, you can use them to embellish children’s clothes, or glue them on canvas and create beautiful wall decor for a nursery or kids’ room.
You can experiment with different colors, add google eyes if you wish and you will have a cute rainy weather applique!

Ch – chain
DC – double crochet
DC2tog – double crochet two stitches together
Rnd – round
SC- single crochet
Sl St – slip stitch
St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)
TR – treble crochet
The Cloud is about 2″ x 3-1/4″.
I made Raindrops in two sizes – small and large.
Small Raindrop is about 1″.
Large Raindrop is about 1-1/2″.

Ch 13 (Ch 10 and Ch 3 as first DC),
Rnd 1. DC in 4th Ch from hook and in each of eight next Sts, working under 2 loops – 6 DC in last Ch; working on opposite side of the Chain – DC in each of next 8 Chs, 4 DC in next, join with Sl St in top of Ch 3 – 28 DC.
Rnd 2. Skip next St, 6 DC in next, skip 1, Sl St in next, *skip 2, 8 TR in next, skip 2, Sl St in next*, skip 1, 7 DC in next, Sl St in next, (DC + 7 TR + 2 DC) in next, skip 1, Sl St in next, repeat from * to * one more time, skip 2, (8 TR + DC) in next, skip 2 Sl St in next.
Start with magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 2, 12 HDC in ring, Sl St to 1st HDC to join.
Row 1. Ch 2, DC2tog in next 2 Sts, Ch 1.
Start with magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 3, 13 DC in ring, Sl St to 1st DC to join.
Row 1. Ch 2, DC2tog in next 2 Sts, Ch 2.
If you wish – attach googly eyes and make a mouth (you can embroider it or you can glue a small piece of red yarn on).
