Crochet Large Cloud

This crochet Large Cloud applique will look great on your windows, pillows, or blankets. 

On my blog, I already have a crochet cloud pattern. But it was too small for some larger projects you were doing and I was asked many times to design a larger one. 

I hope you will enjoy this larger cloud version and will find a lot of ways to use it!

My large cloud is made from worsted weight #4 yarn and it is about 7-1/2” wide. If you want to make an even larger one, you can use two strands of yarn and a crochet hook size 9 mm as I did to make a large Rainbow flower for window.

Ch 13 (Ch 10 and  Ch 3 as first DC),

Rnd 1. DC in 4^th Ch from hook and in each of 8 next Sts, working under 2 loops – 6 DC in last Ch;

working on opposite side of the Chain – DC in each of next 8 Chs, 4 DC in next, join with Sl St in top of Ch 3 – 28 DC.

Rnd 2. Ch 3 (counts as DC), 2 DC in next St, DC in each of next 8 Sts, 2 DC in next St, DC in next, 2 DC in each of next 2 Sts, DC in next, 2 DC in next, 

DC in each of next 8 Sts, 2 DC in next St, DC in next St, 2 DC in each of next 2 Sts, join with Sl St in top of ch 3. Total – 36 Sts.

Rnd 3. Ch 3 (counts as DC), DC in next St, 2 DC in next St, DC in each of next 8 Sts, *2 DC in next St, DC in each of next 2 Sts* – 2 times,

2 DC in next St, DC in next St, 2 DC in each of next 2 Sts, DC in each of next 8 Sts,

2 DC in each of next 2 Sts, DC in next St, 2 DC in next St, DC in each of next 2 Sts, 2 DC in next St, join with Sl St in top of Ch 3. Total – 46 Sts.

Rnd 4. Sl St in next St, *skip 1, 6 DC in next, skip 1, Sl St in next*, **skip 2, 8 TR in next, skip 2, Sl St in next**, repeat from * to * two times,

***skip 2, 12 TR in next, skip 2, Sl St in next***,

repeat from ** to ** two times, repeat from *** to *** one time,

skip 1, 6 DC in next, join with Sl St to Sl St at the beginning of the round. Fasten off.
