This colorful crochet Halloween bunting (or garland) will make your house ready for the holiday! It will look great above the window or door, on the fireplace, or in the kid’s room.

Buntings are easy to make and they are perfect to add a handmade touch to your home decor.
To make this bunting, I used appliques of such classic Halloween characters as a Black cat, Spider and Bat. In addition, I used Halloween heart ornaments and my heart-shaped Pumpkin applique.
My son is a very big fan of Halloween. A couple of years ago, I made him a crochet Spider Garland, and he really liked it. I also made an Egg Faces Garland for his room for Easter and a Happy Shamrock Garland for St. Patrick’s Day.

How to make the bunting:
1. Crochet all the pieces. For my bunting, I made 2 Bats, 2 Spiders, 1 Black Cat, 2 Pumpkin Hearts, and 3 Halloween Hearts. You can always make your bunting shorter or longer and adjust the number of pieces as needed.
2. Block all the pieces as necessary.
3. Making a bunting. You have a couple of options for making your bunting. You can crochet a chain and join each piece to the chain with single crochet evenly.
You can also crochet a chain first and then carefully sew each piece to the string, or you can use small 1 inch crafts clothespins to hang all the pieces.
The length of the chain depends on how long you want your bunting to be. For my bunting I crocheted a chain about 70” long.
Leave on each end about 5-7 inches for tying the bunting, then arrange the pieces.
