My son is a very big fan of Halloween and he wanted me to make some decorations for his room.
For this garland, I used crochet heart spider and spider web applique patterns that I designed earlier. The patterns are free on my blog and you will find all the links below in the Patterns I Used section.
Crocheted garlands are easy projects but add an adorable handmade touch to your home decor.

How to Make Spiders and Spider Webs Crochet Garland
Materials I used:
To make this Halloween garland, I used black cotton crochet thread size #3 and hook size 1/2.75mm.

Patterns I used:
For this Halloween crochet garland I used the following crochet patterns:
Instructions:
- Crochet all the pieces.
For my garland, I made four Spiders and five Spider Webs. You can always make your garland shorter or longer and adjust the number of pieces as needed.
2. Block all the pieces and slightly starch them.
Crocheted pieces made from natural fibers like cotton look their best after they have been blocked to the proper shape. It also helps to make stitches look uniform and even.
To do that, gently submerge your crocheted pieces in cold water, allow them to soak thoroughly. Roll them in a towel to remove water, shape them and lay them on a blocking mat.
Spray your crochet pieces with spray starch. Pin each Spider’s leg. Be sure to use rustproof pins.
Allow the pieces to dry completely.
3. Make a string.
For the string, use two strands of a thread size #3 and hook size F/5-3.75mm.
Crochet a chain, the length depends on how long you want your garland to be. Leave from each end about 5″-7” for tying the garland, then arrange the Spiders and Spider Webs and carefully sew them on.
I hope you enjoyed this Halloween crochet garland idea!
Happy Crocheting!

Thank you so much for this! I wanted to add more decorations to my house, but we are trying to limit spending. I do have yarn, so this is totally on my list of things to make!

I want to thank you for this pattern for the spiders and webs. My niece just loves to decorate for Halloween… so, this is as close as I will be to a spider… I have always crocheted doilies but never tried anything quite like this. LOL… she will just love it. And she will always think of her Aunt Lori, every Halloween, when she decorates. thank you, Lori
