My son is a very big fan of Halloween and he wanted me to make some decorations for his room.
So, using my free crochet patterns for the Spider Web and Spider Applique, I’ve made this Halloween Garland.
More of my holiday crochet designs can be found on this website under the tag Halloween. In this collection, you will find such traditional Halloween characters as a crochet Bat applique, crochet Black Cat applique, and many more!
I hope you will like this crochet Halloween Spider garland idea and will be inspired to make one as well!

Materials:
To make this Halloween garland, you will need black cotton crochet thread size #3 and hook size 1/2.75mm.
You can find my favorite crochet supplies HERE!
Instructions:
- Make Spider and Spider Web appliques.
Use my free crochet pattern for the crochet Spider Web,
and a free crochet pattern for the crochet Spider applique.
2. Block all the pieces and slightly starch them.
Crocheted pieces made from natural fibers like cotton look their best after they have been blocked to the proper shape. It also helps to make stitches look uniform and even.
To do that, gently submerge your crocheted pieces in cold water, allow them to soak thoroughly. Roll them in a towel to remove water, shape them and lay them on a blocking mat.
Spray your crochet pieces with spray starch. Pin each Spider’s leg. Be sure to use rustproof pins.
Allow the pieces to dry completely.
3. Make a string.
For the string, use two strands of a thread size #3 and hook size F/5-3.75mm.
Crochet a chain, the length depends on how long you want your garland to be. Leave from each end about 5-7” for tying the garland, then arrange the Spiders and Webs and carefully sew them on.
Now your Halloween Spooky Spider Garland is done!
I hope you enjoyed this Halloween garland idea!
