Instructions:
We will need to make the Apple and the Poison parts separately, and then sew the Poison on the Apple.
Apple
With Color A, make magic ring;

Rnd 1. Ch 1, 10 HDC in ring, join with Sl St to 1st HDC. Total – 10 HDC.
Rnd 2. Ch 1, 2 HDC in each St around, join with Sl St to 1st HDC. Total – 20 HDC.
Rnd 3. Ch 1, 2 HDC in same St, HDC in next St, *2 HDC in next St, HDC in next St*. Repeat from * to * to the end of the round, join with Sl St to 1st HDC. Total – 30 HDC.
Rnd 4. Ch 1, 2 HDC in same St, HDC in each of the next 2 Sts, *2 HDC in next St, HDC in each of the next 2 Sts*. Repeat from * to * to the end of the round, join with Sl St to 1st HDC. Total – 40 HDC.
Rnd 5. Ch 1, SC in next St, HDC in next St, *2 HDC in next, HDC in each of next 3 Sts* – 4 times, 2 HDC in next, Sl St in each of next 2 Sts,
*2 HDC in next, HDC in each of next 3 Sts* 4 times, 2 HDC in next, SC in next, Sl St in next. Total – 50 Sts. Side facing you is the Right Side. Fasten off.
Stem
With Right Side facing you, join Color C to the last Sl St of the Apple,
Ch 7, SC in 2nd Ch and in each of next 2 Chs, Sl St in each of next 3 Chs, Sl St in same St where you joined. Fasten off.
Blossom End
Cut a piece of Color C yarn about 8” long. With Apple’s Right Side facing you, insert hook through one of the Sl Sts at the bottom, grab the middle of the folded strand of yarn with the hook and draw the loop.
Keeping the hook inserted through the loop, grab two loose ends, draw them through the loop and tighten.
Repeat one more time. Trim the ends leaving them about 1/3” long.
Poison Part
With Color B, Ch 14;
Row 1. (Right Side) SC in second Ch from hook, HDC in next, DC2tog, HDC in next, SC in next, Sl St in next, SC in next, HDC in next, DC2tog, HDC in next, SC in last, turn. Total – 11 Sts.
Row 2. Ch 1 (doesn’t count as a St), 2 SC in first St, Sc in each of next 9 Sts, 2 SC in last, turn. Total – 13 Sts.
Row 3. Ch 2 (counts as first HDC), HDC in each of next 2 Sts, Ch 7, skip 2, SC in each of next 3 Sts, Ch 7, skip 2, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, turn. Total – 9 Sts and two Ch-7 spaces for the eyeholes.
Row 4. Ch 3 (counts as first DC), DC in each of next 2 Sts, skip 2 Chs of Ch-7, SC in 3rd Ch,
7 SC in Ch-7 space (work these Sts around the chain, not into the chain stitches), skip one SC between the eyeholes, SC in next, skip last, 7 SC in next Ch-7 space (again, work these Sts around the chain, not into the chain stitches), SC in 3rd Ch from the end of Ch-7, skip 2 last Chs,

Finishing
Using a sewing needle and matching sewing thread, sew the poison part on the apple around the perimeter and around the eyeholes and nose hole.
For the ornament, attach the hanging loop to the Stem.
