Yarn:
- Medium weight #4 yarn, colors – brown (Color A), yellow (Color B), orange (Color C).
- Light weight #3 yarn or crochet thread #3, color D – red.

This turkey applique consists of a turkey face, snood, and feathers.

Face
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm and medium weight #4 yarn in Color A, Ch 10;
Round 1. 2 SC in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in each of next 4 Chs, HDC in next Ch, DC in each of next 2 Chs, (EDC, DC, 4 HDC, DC, EDC) in last Ch, continue working around on opposite side of the chain – DC in each of next 2 Chs, HDC in next Ch, SC in each of next 4 Chs, 2 SC in next Ch, join with a Sl St to first SC. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Comb
Use crochet hook C/2.75 mm and light weight #3 yarn in Color D.
Join Color D to the top of the head, Ch 4, Sl St in same place, Ch 6, Sl St in same place, Ch 4, Sl St in same place. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Snood
With crochet hook C/2.75 mm and light weight #3 yarn in Color D, Ch 9;
Row 1. (2 DC, HDC) in 3rd Ch from hook, HDC in next Ch, SC in next Ch, Sl St in next Ch, 2 SC in next Ch, SC in next Ch, 4 SC in next (last) Ch, rotate your work and continue on the opposite side of chain – skip one Ch, Sl St in next Ch. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Feather – make 6 (4 in Color B and 2 in Color C)
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm, Ch 10, HDC in 3rd Ch from hook, DC in each of next 3 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, SC in next Ch, Sl St in next Ch. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Finishing
Block all the parts of the applique. Using sewing needle and matching thread, sew snood onto the face. Using sewing needle and matching thread, sew the feathers positioning them from the back side. Using hot glue gun, attach googly eyes or sunglasses (if the sunglasses have shanks, remove them first using wire cutter).
