Lucy is so beautiful, funny and cute. She is bringing us so much love and we can’t imagine our life without her.
She taught us what is important in life and left her pawprints on our hearts forever. Thank you for the wonderful 10 years together and Happy Birthday, our sweet Lucy!
“The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.” Agatha Christie
Have you noticed that a dog paw looks like a heart? My crochet paw print applique is made from one large heart for the pad and four small hearts for the toes.
Just crochet these hearts and embellish with them any of your dog items – blanket, clothes, bed, etc., or any of your own items – scarf, hat, or bag!
I used this heart paw applique to embellish a crochet dog bandana and Christmas stocking, which I made for Lucy.

Thank you so much for the pattern I have been hunting for these for a long time. I’m trying to make a fox appliqué to put on a blanket and make these paws to go with it. Do you have a easy fox pattern that is an appliqué also.
Yes, I do! Here is my Fox applique: https://www.goldenlucycrafts.com/crochet-fox-applique-pattern/. I hope you will like it.
Dear Olena,
Thank you for sharing your patterns. I plan to make Lucy bandanas for my grown children and grandchildrens pups. Sadly, I no longer have a dog of my own as my husband is allergic. Loved the pictures of your sweet girl.
Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Judee Core
Thank you for sharing your paw pattern. I love it. And Lucy is precious.
You are very welcome! I am happy to hear that you like my heart paw!
I have about a 3/4 inch in the center of my big heart. How do you avoid this? I have redone it so many times and end up with the same result.
To avoid having a hole in the center, when you work in 4th chain (round 1), insert your hook under two loops (or strands). If you work under one strand, it will stretch and you will have a large hole. Working under two loops prevents stretching. You may have just a small hole in the center, you can close it while fastening off the beginning end.
