- crochet hook 4.5 mm
- crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm

This crochet face with praying hands consists of a heart-shaped face, two closed eyes, and two folded hands.

Heart-shaped Face
With yellow worsted medium-weight #4 yarn and crochet hook H/8-5.00 mm make a heart for the face. For the heart-shaped face, I used the same pattern as I did for all my other smiley faces. The pattern can be found in the post Heart Eyes Crochet Smiley Face.
Closed Eye – make 2
With black cotton crochet thread size 10 and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm, Ch 8;
Row 1. Working in back ridge of the Chain – Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in each of next 2 Chs, 2 SC in next Ch, SC in each of next 2 Chs, Sl St in last Ch. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Praying Hands
How to change to a new color: work the final stitch with the first color, but do not complete the stitch. You will have 2 loops remain on the hook. Drop first color and draw through the loops on the hook new color and complete the stitch.
Left hand
Cuff
With blue color and crochet hook 4.5 mm, Ch 4;
Row 1. SC in 2nd Ch from hook and in next 2. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Row 2. Ch 1, SC in each St across. Change color to off white. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Row 3. Ch 1, SC in each St across. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Hand
Sl St in 1st St, Ch 10, Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook and in next, SC in next 2, HDC in next 2, *YO, insert hook in next Ch, YO and pool a loop*, skip next Ch, repeat from * to * one more time, you have 5 loops on your hook, YO and pull through all those loops, skip next St of the Cuff, Sl St in next St. Fasten off.
Right Hand
Cuff
With blue color and crochet hook 4.5 mm, Ch 4,
Row 1. SC in 2nd Ch from hook and in next 2. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Row 2. Ch 1, SC in each St across. Change color to off white. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Row 3. Ch 1, SC in each St across. Total – 3 SC. Turn.
Hand
Sl St in 1st St, Ch 8, Sl St in 2nd Ch and in next, SC in next 2, HDC in next 2, (HDC, Ch 1, HDC) in next, skip next St of the Cuff, Sl St in next St. Fasten off.
Finishing
Block the face and hands.
Sew on eyes onto the face.
Sew on hands onto the face.
