This crochet yellow-blue Ukrainian Heart I dedicate to a beautiful country where I was born and to its brave people who have amazed the whole world with their courage and their strong will to defend their freedom.
I live in the US now, but Ukraine will always be my motherland, my country where I spent more than half of my life, and will always be the country “where I am from”.
My crochet Heart of Ukraine is made in traditional colors of the Ukrainian flag – golden yellow color on the bottom and blue color on the top.
But do you know what these colors mean? Blue represents the sky and yellow represents the wheat fields under it. Ukraine has been known as “the bread basket” and the nation is very proud of its harvests from its famous rich, black soil.
You can make this Ukrainian Heart for yourself, for your friends, or for anybody in support of Ukraine, its people, and their freedom.
This crochet Ukrainian Heart is a modified version of my previously designed Patriotic Heart and Candy Corn Heart.
And you may also like these designs that were made in yellow-blue color combination: Two-colored Heart, Heart Butterfly, and Heart Flower.

Love this! Will be making them for each of my family and any coworkers who would like one. I might try using several strands of embroidery thread and a smaller hook to make tiny ones that can be hung from the badges we wear at work (I work at a hospital and employees all wear ID badges). thank you for again sharing your talent to inspire us.
Thank you so much for your support!

I Stand for Ukraine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, in The U.S. and abroad.
Has your mother found safety? Have your other family members and friends I think about YOU and them every single day. 💟🌻💙💛🌻💙💛🌻
Thank you so much for your kindness and support! My family is not near the border with russia, they are in the central part of the country. But there is no safe place in Ukraine now as russians are bombing all major cities. It is a horrible situation.
Sending blessings for you and any family and friends you may have in Ukraine. In my prayers for God to end this war for the brave people fighting for their freedom and country. 🙏🇺🇦🙏
Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you for the pattern. My sister has friends and co-workers in Ukraine. Some have now been able to evacuate, and others are trying. She is sending $ for relocation help. I am starting a fundraiser among my social media friends to help them with rent and basic necessities. My sister and I are going to make these to include as part of the fundraiser and attach them to different levels of commitment. I think about all of Ukraine and pray for them, it may not be much, but I hope I can help alleviate some of the pain in their yet unknown futures in this way. I pray for you and your family and friends.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
I really like your pattern but can’t figure out the 1st row.
I planned on making a bunch & passing them out at church as reminders to pray.
Please send me email at [email protected], I will be glad to help you.
I really like your pattern & the cause. I want to make a bunch & give them out as reminders to pray but I can’t figure out how to get it started past the chain 4. Can you explain it somehow? Or do you have a video?
Please send me email at [email protected], I will be glad to help you.
I made 45 of these hearts and contributed them to an organization at a local church, who was running a donation campaign all last weekend. If a parishioner made a donation to the Ukrainian Relief Fund, through Catholic Relief Services, they were given a crocheted item to take home: a heart, a sunflower, or a prayer square. Over $1000 was raised through this effort. I loved being able to contribute to it, and make a difference in a small way. We are continuing to pray for peace, and thinking of you and your loved ones at this very difficult time.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support! Me and all Ukrainians really appreciate what people around the world are doing. Such support is incredible! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
