These ball Christmas ornaments are easy and fun to make. Just fill them with yarn, then add a few things to the outside such as eyes, a nose, a belt, etc., and your ornaments are done! It also makes for a very entertaining and fun family activity.
Those ornaments would be wonderful Christmas crafts to make with kids as they require no special tools.
It is good for the little fingers to practice their fine motor skills by putting yarn inside of the clear balls. Adults may have to help them with a glue gun to ensure they don’t burn themselves.

Santa Belly Christmas Ornament
Materials I used:
- Clear glass ball
- Red and black yarn
- White button
- Glue gun
Instructions:
- Fill the clear ball with red yarn
2. Make Santa’s belt by wrapping the outside middle of the ornament with black yarn.
How to wrap: glue on the end of black yarn at the beginning point, wrap half way around and secure with hot glue, wrap another half until you reach starting point, secure with glue again.
Wrap in this way 3-4 times around.
Before the final wrap, thread a button on the black yarn, then complete the wrap and verify the button is flat and tight against the ornament. Make the final glue joint, then cut the yarn.
3. Adjust button placement and make sure the ends of black yarn are on the opposite side of the button.
4. Attach the string.
