DC – double crochet
HDC – half double crochet

This crochet cherry applique is about 2″.
Materials I used:
- crochet cotton thread size 10, colors – red, green, brown (beige)
- crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm
You can use any yarn weight that would work for your project.
Instructions:
For this cherry applique, you will need to make berries, leaves, and stems.

Cherry
Start with magic ring;
Rnd 1. Ch 2 (doesn’t count as a St), 8 HDC in ring. Draw the loop closed. To make it easier to do, first untwist the tail. Then pull the tail to draw the loop tightly closed. Join with Sl St in top of first HDC. Total – 8 HDC.
Rnd 2. Ch 2 (doesn’t count as a St), 2 HDC in same St and in each St around, join with Sl St in top of first HDC. Total – 16 HDC. Fasten off.
Double Leaf
With green color, Ch 23;
Rnd 1. Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook, *SC in each of next 2 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, DC in each of next 3 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, Sl St in each of next 2 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, DC in each of next 3 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, SC in each of next 2 Chs*, 3 SC in next (last ) Ch;
continue working on opposite side of Ch – repeat from * to *, Sl St in next. Fasten off.
Single Leaf
With green color, Ch 12, Sl St in 2nd Ch from the hook, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, DC in each of next 3 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, SC in each of next 2 Chs, 3 SC in next (last) Ch;
continue working on opposite side of Ch – SC in each of next 2 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, DC in each of next 3 Chs, HDC in each of next 2 Chs, Sl St in last Ch. Fasten off.
Stem
One stem: With brown (beige) color, Ch 12, Sl St to the center of double leaf or to the tip of single leaf.
Two stems: With brown color, Ch 12, Sl St to the center of double leaf, Ch 12.
Three stems: With brown color, Ch 12, Sl St to the center of double leaf, Ch 12, third stem – Ch 12, Sl St to the center of double leaf.
Finishing
Using the tails, sew cherries to the stems. Fasten off and weave in the ends
