Crochet Cherry Blossom Earrings

The Cherry flowers are made with Puff Stitch. The flowers are embellished with Czech glass beads on each side as well, and they look pretty from both sides.

Ch(s) – chain(s)

SC – single crochet

Sl st(s) – slip stitch(s)

St (s)– stitch(es)

Puff St – 5-HDC puff stitch

Finished Size:

These cherry blossom earrings are about 3” (7.5 cm) long.

 

Special stitches:

Puff St (5-HDC puff stitch) = Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch. Yarn over again and draw up loop. There will be three loops on the hook.

Repeat four more times. Each time adds 2 more loops to the hook. There will be 11 loops on the hook.

Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook. You have one loop on hook, Ch 1 to secure the Puff St.

Crochet Cherry Flower

With crochet cotton in pink color, Ch 5, join to form a ring. Make sure you leave beginning tail about 6-8” long to sew beads.

Round 1. Ch 1, 9 SC into ring, join with Sl St into first SC.

Round 2. *(Ch 3, 5-HDC Puff St, Ch 3) – into same St, skip next St, Sl St into next St*, repeat from * to * 4 more times, but last time don’t skip St. You should have made 5 petals.

Ch 27, cut off pink color leaving 4-6” long tail.

Using light pink color, make a second Cherry Flower.

Assembling:

Using ending tail from Ch 27, attach Chain to the Flower, weave in the end.

Using the ends from the centers, sew beads onto both sides of the Flowers, fasten off and weave in the end.

With flat-nosed pliers, open jump ring and slip it under two strands of the 10^th chain, counting from the light pink Flower.

Add the earring wire, and close the jump ring with the pliers.
