Fringe
- Cut yarn in 13” strands.
- Use 2 strands for each with colors matching the colors of the scarf’s rows, fold strands in half.
- Attach fringe to the last stitch of each row – insert hook through the stitch, grab middle of folded 2 strands of yarn with the hook, pull loop through.
- Keeping hook inserted through loop, grab 4 loose ends of the fringe, pull through the loop, and tighten. If you are attaching fringe to the stitch with beginning tail – include this tail in fringe. While making a fringe, grab five loose ends (four ends of the fringe and one beginning tail) and pull through the loop.
- Lay the scarf flat on a hard surface and trim the ends of the fringe to desired length.

Hi. When you make your hdc, do you insert your hook under the first 2 loops or do you use just the middle/center loop of the previous row’s hdc? Thank you.
GoldenLucyCrafts says
This pattern uses regular hdc. Insert the hook through both loops at the top of the stitch from the previous row.

This is a beautiful pattern, but I didn’t realize the mistake until I got to row 13. Why does color A’s rows differ from the other two colors? In the beginning you say to HDC the first four rows instead of doing the criss-cross, but in the photo color A is criss-crossed like the other two colors. I believe I am too far to take apart now, but will try again with a different color. Thank you, and hope this helps!
GoldenLucyCrafts says
The pattern is correct – you work HDC the first 4 rows. There are only two rows with crossed DC – rows 10 and 18. I believe you are confused about where the row 1 is. We start with black color and the first 4 rows are made in black. Hope this will help.
