Crochet Heart Face with Rolling Eyes

This Face with Rolling Eyes is the 6^th and final design in my second series of six crochet heart-shaped faces. This face has a closed mouth and upward rolling big eyes. It is also known as the Eye Roll face. The Face with Rolling Eyes is usually used to express disapproval or frustration.

Ch – chain

DC – double crochet

HDC – half double crochet

Rnd – round

SC – single crochet

Sl St – slip stitch

St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)

TR – treble crochet

Finished Size:

This Rolling Eyes Face is about 3-1/4″ (8 cm).

Materials:

• worsted medium weight #4 yarn, color – yellow
• crochet hook H/8-5.00 mm
• cotton crochet thread size 10, color – white
• cotton crochet thread size 10, color – black
• crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm

1. With yellow worsted medium weight #4 yarn and crochet hook H/8-5.00 mm, make a Large Heart for the face (see  Instructions for the Heart-Eyes Face).

2. Make Eyes

The Eye consists of two parts – a white sclera and a black pupil.

White Sclera – make 2

With white crochet thread size 10 and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm, make magic ring;

Rnd 1. Ch 3, 12 DC, join with Sl St in top of Ch 3.

Rnd 2. Ch 1, *SC, 2 SC – repeat around, join with Sl St in top of first SC. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Black pupil – make 2

With black crochet thread size 10 and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm, make magic ring;

Rnd 1. Ch 1, 9 SC in ring, join with Sl St in top of first SC. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

3. Make a Mouth

Mouth

With black crochet thread size 10 and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm, Ch 8;

Row 1.  Working in a back ridge – SC into 2^nd Ch from the hook and into each Ch to the end. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Finishing

Sew Eyes and a Mouth onto the Face.
