I created this crochet Ukrainian sunflower and my previous Ukrainian heart to support the country where I was born and its brave people fighting for their freedom.
I live in the US now, but Ukraine will always be my motherland and will always be the country “where I am from”.
Hang this yellow-blue Ukrainian sunflower on your window or door, or use it as a wall hanging decoration to show your support for Ukraine!
The sunflower is one of the symbols of Ukraine. In Ukrainian folk culture sunflowers symbolize sun, strength, and prosperity.
The endless fields of sunflowers in Ukraine are just amazing! The sunflower is one of the most popular crops in Ukraine, and this makes Ukraine a leading producer of sunflower seeds and sunflower seed oil.
The petals of my Ukrainian sunflower are made from hearts. This sunflower is a modified version of my previously designed Heart Flower and Rainbow Flower.
My crochet Ukrainian sunflower is made in the traditional colors of the Ukrainian flag – golden yellow color on the bottom and blue color on the top. The blue color represents the sky and the yellow color represents the wheat fields under it.
