My crochet wall art Lavender and Bees was inspired by the beauty of lavender fields and the tranquilizing sound of bees buzzing around.
A single Lavender plant is beautiful, but a large Lavender field with rows and rows of lavender plants is a truly amazing view.
By creating this small wall decor, I tried to bring this view to my home so I could enjoy it every day.
This crochet lavender wall art will make an attractive small decoration for any room of your house or for the kitchen. It will also make a great handmade gift.
For this project, I used one of my previously designed patterns for the lavender applique. This pattern is available on my blog for free. The link to the pattern can be found below in the Pattern I Used section.
I love to create wall decorations on canvas using crochet appliques. It is pretty easy – you just need to crochet appliques, arrange them on a canvas, and then glue them down.

How to Make the Lavender and Bees Crochet Wall Art
To create this Lavender and Bees crochet wall art you need to crochet lavender appliques and then glue them and bee buttons to the canvas.
Materials I used:
Aunt Lydia’s crochet cotton thread #10, color – violet
Aunt Lydia’s crochet cotton thread #10, color – myrtle green
Crochet hook size 1.8 mm
Acrylic paint (I mixed two colors – Pansy and White)
For the background I’ve used 8 x 8” canvas
Glue gun
Cute small flat back bee buttons. I found them on Etsy HERE (if you get shank buttons, you will need a craft cutter to remove button shanks).
I like to purchase buttons on the Etsy website. You can find my favorite button collection HERE.
Directions:
- Paint a canvas in light lavender color.
2. Crochet lavender appliques. For my project, I crocheted 11 lavenders. You can make more or fewer pieces if desired.
Patterns I used:
For this crochet Lavender wall art, I used the following pattern, which is available on this website for free:

The video tutorial for the lavender flower is HERE.
This pattern is also available as a print-friendly, styled, and advertisement-free PDF file. You can get it from my Etsy Shop HERE or on Ravelry HERE.
3. Block your lavender appliques as necessary.
4. If your bee buttons have shanks, cut the shanks off.
5. Arrange lavender appliques and bee buttons on the canvas.
6. When you are happy with the arrangement, using a hot glue gun, glue the appliques and buttons to the canvas.
That’s it! Hang it up on the wall and enjoy it!
I hope you liked this crochet Lavender and Bees project!
Happy Crocheting!
