Rnd – round
SC- single crochet
Sl St – slip stitch
St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)
Materials:
For this crochet Partial Solar Eclipse applique, I used cotton crochet thread size 10, colors – yellow, black and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm.
Finished size:
This crochet partial solar eclipse applique is about 1.5” in diameter.

With black color make an adjustable ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 2, 7 HDC into the ring, join with Sl St into 2nd Ch of Ch 2 in the beginning.
Rnd 2. Ch 2, HDC into same place as Ch 2, 2 HDC into each of next Sts around, join with Sl St into 2nd Ch of Ch 2 in the beginning.
Rnd 3. Ch 2, HDC into the same place as Ch 2,* HDC into next St, 2 HDC into next St*, repeat from * to * around, join with Sl St into 2nd Ch of Ch 2 in the beginning.
Join yellow color to any St of Rnd 3.
Row 1. Ch 1, skip next St, SC into next St, HDC into next St, 2 HDC into next St, HDC into next St, DC into next St, 2 DC into next St, DC into next St, HDC into next St, 2 HDC into next St, HDC into next St, SC into next St, Sl St into next St, Ch 1 and turn.
Row 2. Make 6 rays.
Ray 1. Skip last Sl St, SC into each of next 2 Sts, *Ch 3, Sl St into 2nd Ch, SC into next Ch, SC into each of next 2 Sts of previous Row*;
Ray 2. Repeat from * to * one more time;
Ray 3. **Ch 4, Sl St into 2nd Ch and into next Ch, SC into next Ch, SC into each of next 2 Sts of previous Row **;
Ray 4. Repeat from * to * one more time;
Ray 5. Repeat from ** to ** one more time;
Ray 6. Ch 3, Sl St into 2nd Ch, SC into next Ch, SC into next St of previous Row, Sl St into each of next 2 Sts.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
