It is November and it is time to get ready for Thanksgiving! To celebrate this American holiday I created this cute crochet Turkey applique.
This Turkey pattern is another addition to my heart-shaped patterns collection as its body is made in the shape of a heart.

This cute crochet Turkey would be perfect as a Thanksgiving decoration. Use different yarn weights and hook sizes to obtain different sizes for this crochet Turkey.
I’ve made my Turkey with worsted medium weight yarn. If you make it with crochet cotton sport weight #2 yarn, you will get a cute small crochet Turkey applique which you can use for the embellishment of various items.

DC – double crochet
HDC – half double crochet
Rnd – round
SC- single crochet
Sl St – slip stitch
St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)
TR – treble crochet
Crochet Turkey is about 5-3/4” tall and 7” wide.

Body and Legs
With brown and hook size 5 mm:
Rnd 1. Make all of the next stitches into the fourth Ch from hook (the first Ch made) working under both loops – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC, Ch 3, Sl St.
Rnd 2. Ch 3, in top of first St of previous Row make HDC and DC, 3 TR in next St, 2 DC in next St, HDC into each of next 3 Sts, HDC into Ch-1 stitch, Ch 1, DC in next St (Heart point), Ch 1, HDC into Ch-1 stitch, HDC into each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 TR in next St, DC and HDC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Rnd 3. Ch 3, SC in top of first St of previous round, 2 SC in each of next 4 Sts, then SC in each of the next 6 Sts, SC into Ch-1 St,
First Leg. **Ch 6 (3 Chs for the Leg and 3 Chs for the First Toe), First Toe – Sl St in 2nd Ch and in next Ch; Second Toe – *Ch 3, Sl St in 2nd Ch and in next Ch*; Third Toe – repeat from * to *; Sl St in each of 3 Chs of the Leg, SC into same St where last SC worked**,
Ch 1, HDC in next St (heart point), Ch 1, SC in Ch-1 St,
Second Leg. Repeat from ** to **,
SC in each of the next 6 Sts, 2 SC in each of next 4 Sts, SC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center, Ch 1. Fasten off.
Make one red, two yellow and two orange.
Rnd 1. SC into 2nd Ch from the hook, HDC into next Ch, DC into each of next 3 Chs, HDC into each of next 2 Chs, working under 2 loops – 5 SC into last Ch (top). Working on opposite side of the Ch, HDC into each of next 2 Chs, DC into each of next 3 Chs, HDC into next Ch, SC in next (last )St.
Rnd 2. *Ch 1, Sl St in next St, repeat from * around. Fasten off.
With crochet cotton size 3 and hook size 2.75 mm,
Ch 9, (2 DC+HDC) in 3rd Ch, HDC in next Ch, SC in next Ch, Sl St in next Ch, 2 SC in next Ch, SC in next Ch, 4 SC in next (last) Ch, continue on the opposite side of Ch – Sl St in 2nd Ch.
Sew Turkey’s body, snood, and feathers together.
