This lovely crochet Angel Gnome is made from heart shapes and you can use it as an applique, Christmas ornament, or give it as an adorable gift to someone special.

This crochet angel gnome is a modified version of my original heart gnome design. The angel gnome has a heart-shaped cap, beard, body, but I have also added the wings and a halo.

Yarn:
- Knit Picks Dishie medium weight #4 cotton yarn. White color for the Cap, Beard and Body (Color A), colors of choice for the Wings (Color B)
- Knit Picks Curio cotton thread #3. Brown color for the Nose (Color C) and yellow color for the Halo (Color D)
Hooks and other materials:
- Crochet hook 7/4.5 mm
- Crochet hook 1/2.75 mm
- Yarn needle
- Sewing needle
- Matching sewing threads

Cap
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm and Color A,
Ch 15;
Rnd 1. Working under 2 loops: 3 TR in 5th Ch from hook, DC in each of next 2 Chs, HDC in each of next 2, SC in next, 2 SC in each of next 2, SC in each of next 3, Ch 2, continue working on opposite side of Chain: Sl St in each of next 3, SC3tog, HDC in each of next 2, DC in each of next 2, 3 TR in last, Ch 4, Sl St in same last. Fasten off.
Beard
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm and Color A, make magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring.
Rnd 2. Ch 3, SC in first St, 2 SC in each of next 2 Sts, SC in each of next 3 Sts, SC in Ch-1 space, Ch 1, DC in next St (Heart point), Ch 1, SC in Ch-1 space, SC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 SC in each of next 2 Sts, SC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center. Fasten off.
Body
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm and Color A, make magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring.
Rnd 2. Ch 3, SC in first St, Right foot – Ch 2, HDC in 2nd Ch from hook, Sl St in same Ch;
SC in same St as last SC, 2 HDC in each of next 3 Sts, HDC in each of next 2 Sts, HDC in Ch-1 space, Ch 1, DC in next St (Heart point), Ch 1, HDC in Ch-1 space, HDC in each of next 2 Sts, 2 HDC in each of next 3 Sts, SC in next St,
Left foot – Ch 2, HDC in 2nd Ch from hook, Sl St in same Ch;
SC in same St as last SC, Ch 3, Sl St in center. Fasten off.
Wings
With crochet hook 7/4.5 mm and Color B, Ch 4,
Row 1. 6 DC in 4th Ch from hook. Total – 6 DC. Turn.
Row 2. Ch 2 (doesn’t count as a St), 3 HDC in first St, 2 HDC in each of next 4 Sts, 3 HDC in last St. Total – 14 HDC. Turn.
Row 3. Ch 4 (counts as first TR), (2 TR, DC) in very first St, 2 DC in next St, SC in each of next 10 Sts, 2 DC in next St, (DC, 3 TR) in last St. Total – 22 Sts. Turn.
Row 4. Ch 1, skip very first St, Sl St in next, *Ch 1, Sl St in next* across the row. Fasten off.
Nose
With crochet hook 1/2.75 mm and cotton thread size 3 Color C, make magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 2, 9 HDC in ring, join with Sl St to top of Ch 2. Fasten off.
Halo
With crochet hook 1/2.75 mm and cotton thread size 3 Color D, Ch 6. Leave the ends about 1/2” long.
Finishing
Using a sewing needle and matching thread, sew body, beard, cap, wings, halo, and nose together. You can watch this video on how to assemble the gnome.
Block you gnome as necessary.
