This crochet Fall coaster is a variation of a previously published Christmas coaster. The pattern is the same, but I used Fall colors for this version. It’s a perfect stash-buster project and requires only a small amount of yarn.
I have made my coasters in both Christmas and Fall colors, but they would look great in any color combination!

Fall Coaster Crochet Pattern
The Fall coaster is made using the pattern for the Christmas coaster. The Christmas coaster pattern is also available as a print-friendly, styled, and advertisement-free PDF file in my Etsy shop. Free pattern is below.

Abbreviations:
BL (BLO) – back loop (back loop only)
Ch – chain
DC – double crochet
FPDC – front post double crochet
HDC – half double crochet
Puff – puff stitch
SC – single crochet
Sl St – slip stitch
sp – space
St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)
YO – yarn over

Finished Size:
This Fall coaster is about 4-1/2” (13 cm) in diameter
Yarn:
- Medium weight #4 cotton yarn. I used Knit Picks Dishie medium weight #4 cotton yarn. Color A – clementine, Color B – white, Color C – creme brulee.
Hook and other materials:
- Crochet hook 4. 5 mm
- Tapestry needle
Notes:
1. Crochet over your yarn ends – by crocheting over them as you go, you’ll reduce the number of ends to weave in.
Special Stitches:
Puff Stitch (Puff)
- [YO, insert hook into the stitch, YO and pull up a loop] 3 times in the same stitch – you should have 7 loops on your hook.
- YO and draw through all 7 loops on hook.
- Ch 1 to close Puff.
Standing DC
- Make a slip knot.
- YO, holding loop on hook, insert hook in specified stitch.
- YO and pull up a loop (you have 3 loops on hook).
- [YO and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice.

Standing SC
- Make a slip knot.
- Holding loop on hook, insert hook in specified stitch (space).
- YO and pull up a loop.
- YO and draw through 2 loops on hook.

With Color A, make a magic ring,
Rnd 1. Ch 3 (counts as first DC), make 11 DC in ring, join with Sl St to top of Ch 3. Total – 12 DC. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Rnd 2. Join Color B with standing DC in last St of previous rnd, DC in same St, 2 DC in each of next St around, join with Sl St to first DC. Total – 24 DC. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Rnd 3. Join Color C with standing DC in any front post DC St of Round 2 (this is first FPDC), HDC in space before next St, [FPDC, HDC in space before next St] around. Join with Sl St to back loop of first FPDC. Total – 48 Sts. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Rnd 4. BLO. Join Color B with standing SC in BL of last St made, SC in each St around. Join with Sl St to BL of first SC. Total – 48 SC. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Rnd 5. BLO. Join Color C with standing SC in BL of last St made, SC in next 6 Sts, 2 SC in next, [SC in next 7 Sts, 2 SC in next] around. Join with Sl St to first SC. Total – 54 SC. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Rnd 6. How to join with Sl St: make a slip knot and take it off the hook, insert the hook in specified stitch and then place a slip knot on the hook, draw the slip knot through the stitch.
Join Color A with Sl St in last St made, [Ch 2, Puff in same St, skip next 2 Sts, Sl St in next St] around, work last Sl St into same St where first Puff was made. Total – 18 Puffs. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Finishing: block your coaster as needed.
