Row 1. With green color, Ch 4 (counts as Ch 1 + Ch 3 as first DC), 2 DC into 4th Ch from the hook. Total – 3 DC. Turn.
Row 2. Ch 3 (counts as first DC here and throughout), 2 DC into last St of previous Row, DC in next St, 3 DC in top of Ch 3 at the beginning of previous Row. Total – 7 DC. Turn.
Row 3. Ch 3, 2 DC into last St of previous Row, DC in next 5 Sts, 3 DC in top of Ch 3 at the beginning of previous Row. Total – 11 DC. Turn.
Row 4. Ch 3, 2 DC into last St of previous Row, DC in next 9 Sts, 3 DC in top of Ch 3 at the beginning of previous Row. Total – 15 DC. Turn.

The Trunk
Join brown color to the 12th St of the last Row, Ch 3, DC into same St, DC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC into next St.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
You can embellish your tree with crochet ornaments, beads, or spangles.
Crochet Ornaments
Start with an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1. Ch 2, 10 HDC into a ring. Draw the loop closed. To make it easier to do, first, untwist the tail.
Then pull the tail to draw the loop closed tightly, pull the tail from back side to draw the loop closed tightly.
Join with Sl St in top of Ch 2.
Fasten off and weave in one end. Leave the second end to be long enough to sew the ornament to the tree.
Make as many ornaments as you would like.
Sew them on the tree.
