What do you associate with winter? For me, it is blue sky and sparkling white snow, falling snowflakes that you can catch with your hand, sleeping nature covered with a white cozy snow blanket, and of course, Christmas and New Year.

I live in the Pacific Northwest where we have a lot of rain and no snow. If we want to see the snow, we have to drive to the mountains. I grew up in a place with a beautiful white winter and sometimes I am missing snow during rainy winter days.
So, I decided to create this crochet Winter wall art with a tree covered in snow to have beautiful winter in my room all the time. This crochet wall art will also make a great handmade gift.
I love to create wall arts using crochet appliques. To do that, you just need to crochet the pieces, arrange them on a canvas, and then glue them down.

How to Make the Winter Tree Crochet Wall Art
For this Winter tree project, you need to crochet a tree and a lot of small snowflakes and then glue them to the canvas.
Materials I used:
For the tree:
For the snowflakes:
For the background, I used 9 x12 canvas.
You will also need a hot glue gun.
Directions:
1. Paint a canvas in light blue color.
2. Crochet snowflakes.
Snowflakes for this project I made using patterns from the book “White Christmas in thread crochet” by Kathryn Clark. I chose only small snowflakes in diameter 2-3/4” the biggest.
3. Block and starch snowflakes.
4. Crochet a tree. The pattern for the tree can be found in my Etsy shop.
5. Block the tree.
6. Using a glue gun, glue the tree and the snowflakes to the canvas.
Later on, I designed a pattern for a small snowflake, which is about only 1” in diameter. This tiny snowflake is made from crochet cotton size 20 and I used a crochet hook 1.5 mm.
Using patterns for the small snowflake and for the tree, I created another Winter wall art (see picture below).
The crochet pattern for this Winter Tree is available in my Etsy Shop. It includes instructions for the tree and small snowflake.
I hope you enjoyed this winter tree crochet art project!
Happy Crocheting!
