This year the Unicorn Christmas Tree is gaining popularity. It is a pink or white tree with a Unicorn topper and decorated with Unicorn-inspired ornaments.

My Unicorn Ornament has pink Santa Hat on his Horn, a pink Muzzle and a pink with purple Mane. You can also make your Unicorn in the traditional Christmas colors of red and green.

DC – double crochet
DC2tog – double crochet two stitches together
HDC – half double crochet
Rnd – round
SC- single crochet

Sl St – slip stitch
St (Sts) – stitch (stitches)
TR – treble crochet

This Unicorn ornament is about 5″.
Materials:
For the face: cotton medium weight yarn Sugar’n Cream, color – white
For the hat and muzzle: cotton medium weight yarn Sugar’n Cream, color – pink
For the mane: cotton medium weight yarn Sugar’n Cream, color – pink
cotton medium weight yarn Sugar’n Cream, color – purple
For the eyes: cotton light weight yarn Patons Grace, color – black (you can use black embroidery floss instead)

Instructions:
For this crochet Christmas Unicorn ornament, you need to make Face, Hat, Muzzle, Mane and then sew them together.
Make a Face
With white yarn, Ch 4;
Rnd 1. Working under both loops, make all of the next stitches into the 4th Ch from hook (the first Ch made) – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC, Ch 3, Sl St.
Rnd 2. Ch 3, in top of first St of previous Row make HDC+DC, 3 TR in next St, 2 DC in next St, DC into each of next 3 Sts, HDC into Ch1 stitch, (DC+TR+DC) in next St (Heart point), HDC into Ch 1 stitch, DC into each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 TR in next St, DC + HDC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Rnd 3. Ch 3, SC in top of first St of previous round, 2 SC in next St;
making first Ear – Ch 6, SC in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in next Ch, HDC in each of next 3 Chs;
SC in next St of the Rnd 2, 2 SC in each of next 3 Sts, SC in each of the next 6 Sts, (DC+TR+DC) in next St (Heart point), SC in each of the next 6 Sts, 2 SC in each of next 3 Sts, SC in next St;
making second Ear – Ch 6, SC in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in next Ch, HDC in each of next 3 Chs;
2 SC in next St, SC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Fasten off.
Make a Hat
With pink yarn, Ch 16;
Row 1. Sl St in 2 nd Ch, Sl St in next, SC in next 2, SC4tog, HDC in next, DC in next 3, TR in next 3.
Fasten off.
Make a Muzzle
With pink yarn, make magic ring;
Rnd 1. Ch 2, 10 HDC in ring, join with Sl St.
Fasten off.
Make a Mane
Ch 14, fasten off, trim the ends. Make two chains in pink and one in purple.
Finishing
Sew Hat, Mane and Muzzle on the Unicorn’s face. Embellish the Hat with snowflake button or button of your choice.
With black yarn (or embroidery floss) embroider the eyes.
Attach the string for hanging your Unicorn ornament on the Christmas tree.
