In this post, you will find a crochet pattern for the lavender square block. This crochet square is easy to make and perfect for various summer projects.
To make this square, we will need to crochet a square and three lavender stems, and then sew the lavender onto the square.

Instructions:
For this lavender square, we will crochet a square block and three branches of lavender. Then, we will sew lavender onto the square.
Square block
With white color, Ch 5, join with Sl St to form a ring.
Rnd 1. Ch 5 (counts as first DC and 2-Ch sp, now and throughout), [3 DC in ring, Ch 2] 3 times, 2 DC in ring, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5 in the beginning. Total – 12 DC.
Rnd 2. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 3 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 3 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5. Total – 28 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 3. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 7 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 7 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5. Total – 44 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 4. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 11 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 11 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5. Total – 60 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 5. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 15 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 15 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5. Total – 76 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 6. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 19 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 19 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5 in the beginning – 92 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 7. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 23 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 23 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5 in the beginning – 108 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps.
Rnd 8. Sl St in next Ch, Ch 5, 2 DC in Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 27 Sts, [(2 DC, Ch 2, 2 DC) in next Ch-2 sp, DC in each of next 27 Sts] 3 times, DC in sp before Ch 5, join with Sl St to 3rd Ch of Ch 5 in the beginning – 124 DC and 4 Ch-2 sps. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Lavender

Finishing
Block the square and lavender appliques. Sew lavender branches onto the square.
