Yarn: For the heart:
- Medium weight #4 yarn, two strands held together, color – white
For the cherry blossom:
- Crochet cotton thread size #10, color A – pink and Color B – light pink
Hooks and other materials:
- Crochet hook size J-10/6 mm
- Crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm
- Sewing needle
- Sewing thread
- Yarn needle

Instructions:
To make this cherry blossom heart ornament, we will need to crochet a heart for the base and cherry blossom flowers. Then, sew flowers and craft buttons onto the heart base.

Heart
With two strands of medium weight #4 yarn held together in white and crochet hook size J-10/6 mm, make magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring.
Round 2. Ch 3, (HDC, DC) in first St, 3 TR in next St, 2 DC in next St, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, HDC in Ch-1, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point), HDC in Ch-1, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 TR in next St, (DC, HDC) in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Round 3. Ch 3, HDC in first St, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point), HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in next St, Ch 4, Sl St in center.
Round 4 – decorative edge. Drop one strand of the yarn and continue working with just one strand: Ch 1, Sl St in 2nd Ch of Ch 3 at the beginning of previous Rnd, Ch 1, Sl St in next Ch, *Ch 1, Sl St in next St, repeat from * around to Ch 4 at the end of previous Rnd, Ch 1, Sl St in 1st Ch, [Ch 1, Sl St in next Ch] twice, Ch 1, Sl St into last Sl St of previous Rnd. Fasten off.
Secure the magic ring, weave in all ends. Cut off piece of yarn about 16”-18” long and make a hanging loop.
Cherry Blossoms – make 8 (or as many as you would like)
With Color A and crochet hook 6/1.8 mm and crochet cotton thread size #10, make magic ring,
Round 1. Ch 1, 10 SC into ring, join with Sl St into first SC. Cut off thread and fasten off.
Round 2. Join Color B to first St of Rnd 1, *Ch 3, 3 TR in same St, Ch 3, Sl St in same St, skip next St, Sl St in next St*, repeat from * to * 4 more times, last Sl St make in same St where you joined. Total – 5 petals. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Finishing
Shape and block your flowers as necessary.
Sew the flowers onto the heart.
Sew on the flower buttons.
