Instructions:
To create this ornament, crochet a heart with dripping honey and attach bee and flower buttons.
With two strands of medium weight #4 yarn held together and crochet hook size J-10/6 mm, make magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring.
Round 2. Ch 3, (HDC, DC) in first St, 3 TR in next St, 2 DC in next St, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, HDC in Ch-1 stitch, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point), HDC in Ch-1 stitch, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 TR in next St, (DC, HDC) in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Round 3. Ch 3, HDC in first St, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point) – mark last HDC with a stitch marker, HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in next St, Ch 4, Sl St in center. Cut off leaving about 6”- 8” yarn ends to make a hanging loop. Secure and fasten off beginning ends.
Round 4 – decorative edge with honey drops. Use one strand of medium weight #4 yarn and crochet hook size J-10/6 mm. Join yarn into last Sl St of previous Rnd, Ch 1, Sl St in 2nd Ch of Ch 3 at the beginning of previous Rnd, Ch 1, Sl St in next Ch,
*Ch 1, Sl St in next St, repeat from * to 4th St from the stitch marker, Ch 1, Sl St in 4th St from the stitch marker, make first honey drop – Ch 7, DC in 3rd Ch from hook, HDC in same Ch, Sl St in next 3 Chs, skip last Ch, Sl St in same St where you started Ch 7;
*Ch 1, Sl St in next St, repeat from * to stitch with a stitch marker, Ch 1, Sl St in marked stitch, make second honey drop – Ch 7, DC in 3rd Ch from hook, HDC in same Ch, Sl St in next 3 Chs, skip last Ch, Sl St in same marked St;
[Ch 1, Sl St in next St] two times, make third honey drop – Ch 4, HDC in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in same Ch, Sl St in next 2 Chs, Ch 1, Sl St in same St where you started Ch 4, [Ch 1, Sl St in next St] three times, make fourth honey drop – Ch 4, HDC in 2nd Ch from hook, SC in same Ch, Sl St in next 2 Chs, Ch 1, Sl St in same St where you started Ch 4,*Ch 1, Sl St in next St, repeat from * to Ch 3 at the end of previous Rnd, Ch 1, Sl St in 1st Ch, Ch 1, Sl St in next Ch, Ch 1, Sl St into same place where you joined. Fasten off.
Make a hanging loop by using the yarn ends that you have saved.
Finishing:
Using a sewing needle and matching thread, sew the bee and flower buttons onto the heart. If your buttons don’t have shanks, use a hot glue gun to attach them to the heart.
