Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Rnd – round

This crochet snowflake bookmark is about 11” long or as you desire.
Yarn:
- Light weight #3 cotton yarn. I used Patons Grace cotton yarn.
Hook and other materials:
- Crochet hook C – 2.75 mm
- Crochet hook F – 3.75 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Snowflake buttons. Try to get flat back buttons. If you get shank buttons, you will need to remove the shanks
- Craft cutter to remove the shanks
- Glue gun

Make a magic ring;
Rnd 1. Ch 1, 12 SC in magic ring, Sl St to first SC to join.
Rnd 2. Sl St in next SC of previous Rnd, **Ch 5, Sl St in 3rd Ch from hook, *Ch 3, Sl St in 3rd Ch from hook*, repeat from * to * one more time, Sl St in remaining 2 Chs of Ch 5,
Sl St in next SC of previous Rnd, Ch 3, Sl St in 3rd Ch from hook, Sl St in next SC of previous Rnd**,
repeat from ** to ** 4 more times,
Ch 5, Sl St in 3rd Ch from hook, *Ch 3, Sl St in 3rd Ch from hook*, repeat from * to * one more time, Sl St in remaining 2 Chs of Ch 5, Sl St to first Sl St of the round to join;
Ch 50-70 (or as you desire). Fasten off.
Make a tassel
Make the tassel in the same way as you would make fringe for a scarf. Do not make it bulky.
Cut 2 pieces of yarn approximately 4” long. Insert crochet hook F-3.75 mm through the last chain. Grab the middle of the yarn strands with the hook and bring it through the chain, then grab the entire bunch of free ends (including ending tail), draw them through the loop and tighten.
Trim tassel ends evenly.
Finishing
Weave in the beginning end. Block snowflake as necessary. If your button has shanks, cut the shank off. Using a hot glue gun, glue the button to the snowflake.
