Knit Picks Dishie medium weight #4 cotton yarn. Colors: White (A), Black (B), Clementine (C).
Hook and other materials:
- Crochet hook H/5 mm
- Crochet hook G/4 mm
- Sticky back googly eyes (or eyes of your choice)
- Black embroidery floss
- Holly berry craft button
- Embroidery needle
- Yarn needle
- Make up red blush powder (you can also use red pencil or crayon)
- Q-tip
Instructions:
To make this crochet Heart Snowman Christmas ornament you will need to crochet a Heart, a Hat and a Nose.
Heart
With Color A and crochet hook H/5 mm, make magic ring;

Rnd 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring.
Rnd 2. Ch 3, HDC+ DC in first St, 3 DC in next St, 2 DC in next St, DC into each of next 3 Sts, DC in Ch 1 space, 3 DC in next St, DC in Ch 1 space, DC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 DC in next St, DC + HDC in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.

Hat
With Color B and crochet hook G/4 mm, Ch 5,
Row 1. SC in 2nd Ch from the hook and in each of next 3. Total – 4 SC. Turn.
Row 2, 3. Ch 1, SC in each St across. Total – 4 SC. Turn.
Row 4. Ch 3, SC in 3rd Ch, SC in last St of previous Row and in each of next 3 Sts, do not turn, Ch 3, SC in 3rd Ch (work under back loop), Sl St in next St. Fasten off.
Nose
With Color C and crochet hook G/4 mm,
Ch 4, working under two strands, Sl St in 2nd Ch from hook and in next Ch, SC in next Ch. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Attach googly eyes.
Using a sewing needle and matching thread, sew on the nose, hat, and holly berry button.
Using black embroidery floss and embroidery needle, embroider the smile.
Using Q-tip and make-up blush powder, add blush to Snowman’s cheeks.

Thank you for making this pattern available. I love it. However I have a question about the hat. The pattern says to chain 5, then to SC crochet in the 2nd ch from hook. Which leaves 4 unworked. Then it goes on to say ch3and SC in 3rd ch from hook and then in the next 3. That’s impossible because there is only 4 SC. And if you work in the 3rd then there is only on SC left. I’m very confused. Could you clear this up for me and anyone else who might need help?
Please, try to follow the pattern precisely. You start with Ch 5, then Row 1 – SC in 2nd Ch from the hook and in each of next 3. Total – 4 SC. After you SC in 2nd Ch, you will have 3 chs remaining, not 4.
Row 4 – Ch 3, SC in 3rd Ch (please note, that you work this SC into chain), SC in last St of previous Row and in each of next 3 Sts (now you work in each of 4 Sts from previous row). Hope this will help.
