Crochet Heart Animals

In this post, you will find a collection of crochet animal appliques that are made of heart-shaped elements. You can create amazing appliques like a butterfly, elephant, lion, frog, or snail using basic heart shapes and their modifications.

To make these heart animals, I was using crocheted hearts of different sizes. The instructions for basic hearts can be found in this post: How to Crochet Hearts in 3 Sizes.  I also used different yarn weights and crochet hooks to achieve varying sizes and looks of hearts.
