To make this ornament, we will need to crochet a heart for the base, a rainbow, and a paw print applique.

Heart – base
With medium weight #4 yarn two strands held together in white color and crochet hook size J-10/6 mm, make magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 3, make all of the next stitches into the ring – 3 DC, 3 HDC, Ch 1, DC (Heart point), Ch 1, 3 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in ring. Tighten the magic ring.
Round 2. Ch 3, (HDC, DC) in first St, 3 TR in next St, 2 DC in next St, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, HDC in Ch-1, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point), HDC in Ch-1, HDC in each of next 3 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 TR in next St, (DC, HDC) in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center.
Round 3. Ch 3, HDC in first St, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, (HDC, DC, HDC) in next St (Heart point), HDC in each of the next 6 Sts, 2 HDC in each of next 5 Sts, HDC in next St, Ch 4, Sl St in center. Fasten off. Close and secure the magic ring. Weave in ends.
Paw Print
The paw print applique consists of heart-shaped pad and four small, round toes.
Heart–shaped pad
With Color A and crochet hook size C-2/ 2.75 mm, make magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 3, 3 DC, 9 HDC, 3 DC; Ch 3, Sl St in center. Total – 15 Sts. Tighten the magic ring.
Round 2. Ch 3, (HDC, DC) in first St, 3 DC in next St, 2 DC in next St, DC in each of next 4 Sts, 3 DC in next St, DC in each of next 4 Sts, 2 DC in next St, 3 DC in next St, (DC, HDC) in next St, Ch 3, Sl St in center. Total – 25 Sts. Fasten off. Leave long tail for sewing. Close and secure the magic ring.
Toe – make 4
With Color A and crochet hook size C-2/ 2.75 mm, make magic ring;
Round 1. Ch 1, 7 SC in ring, Sl St to first SC to join. Total – 7 SC. Fasten off. Leave long tail for sewing. Close and secure the magic ring.
Rainbow
How to fasten off: complete the last St, cut the yarn, leaving a tail about 2 – 3” (5 – 7.5cm) long, yarn over and draw the entire tail through the loop on hook, and pull tight.
With Color B and crochet hook size C-2/ 2.75 mm, Ch 16;
Row 1. SC in second Ch from the hook and in each of next 3, 2 SC in next Ch, SC in each of next 4, 2 SC in next Ch, SC in each of next 5. Fasten off. Total – 17 SC. Turn.
Row 2. Join Color C with standing SC in first St, SC in each of next 7 Sts, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 8. Fasten off. Total – 18 SC. Turn.
Row 3. Join Color D with standing SC in first St, SC in each of next 4, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 5, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 6. Fasten off. Total – 20 SC. Turn.
Row 4. Join Color E with standing SC in first St, SC in each of next 2, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 6, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 4, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 4. Fasten off. Total – 23 SC. Fasten off. Turn.
Row 5. Join Color F with standing SC in first St, SC in each of next 6, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 7, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 7. Fasten off. Total – 25 SC. Turn.
Row 6. Join Color G with standing SC in first St, SC in each of next 3, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 7, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 7, 2 SC in next, SC in each of next 4. Fasten off. Total – 28 SC.
Add yarn for the fringe to the first row. Trim the ends evenly, leaving them about 5/8” (1.5 cm) long.
Finishing
Block the rainbow and paw print appliqués.
Sew the paw print and the rainbow onto the heart. (Alternatively, you can use a hot glue gun to attach the appliqués to the heart).
Attach a hanging loop.
